Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

  • I work both online, via Zoom, or in person in Tooting, SW17.  In-person sessions are held in my home, a warm and comfortable space about 5 minute walk from Tooting Broadway tube station.

  • I work in the evenings and on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, both online and in-person.

  • I share my home with two cats; experience has taught me that it’s easiest to let them come and go as they please.  They are quite friendly and have been known to sit on my client’s laps, this generally goes down well and I would describe them as a net gain therapeutically, but if you’d rather they weren’t in the room, that’s OK too.  However, if you have an allergy to cats then online would be better.

The counselling space is accessible, but please inform me in advance if you are using a wheelchair/mobility scooter, so that I can make sure everything is configured to support your access.

  • My standard rate is £65 per 50-minute session.  I also offer a £55 student rate.  Additionally, I may have a concessionary rate available, please get in touch if this is of interest, and we can discuss it further.

  • In contrast to my more open style once a working relationship is established, our first session is likely to involve me asking you a fair amount of questions, to make a full assessment of what it is you are looking for from counselling, and how this connects to both your history, and your present day patterns of behaviour. That said, if you feel that you would rather have a different type of first session, please let me know as ultimately. I work at your pace.

  • There’s no minimum commitment, I would suggest six sessions as a minimum in order to gain some understanding of a significant issue that you want support with, but you are of course free to finish whenever you like.  Therapy can go on for as long as you feel it is useful to you.
